After a few days of thanksgiving rest, I was feeling pretty well rested. Squats felt mostly well controlled and the bench pressing started out very well, but my ability dimished greatly after the 2nd/3rd set

Squats

Points to consider

  • 175lb for 5x5 with 4min rests
  • Trying to go down more slowly and with a bit more control. I had success with that
  • Trying to go up more quickly, but that's harder to do
  • My setup is changing a bit. I try to have my feet wider when the bar is in the rack so I don't have to make as many motions after unracking
  • Still playing with a more narrow grip and concentrating on pulling elbows down and in

Bench press

Points to consider

  • 5x5 @ 135lb with 5min rests
  • Successful reps: 5, 5, 4, 4, 3
  • I feel like I should have hit 5 on the 3rd set, but I didn't setup very well, still unracked the bar and my form just didn't feel right.
  • On the 4th and 5th sets, I found it hard not to shake when holding the bar just after unracking: tired, I guess.

Barbell row

Points to consider

  • 5x5 @ 135lb with 3 (mostly) min rests
  • Felt pretty easy
